“I think one of the best things we could do would be to help women/parents/families discover their own birth power, from within themselves. And to let them know it’s always been there, they just needed to tap into it.”

My Philosophy

I am very happy to support any kind of birth having the main goal of caring for the whole family. I will walk with them throughout this path while they feel safe and comfortable in one of the most special moments of their lives. Every birth and every family are unique and fascinating.  As your birth doula I will provide support in anything you need during your pregnancy and preparation for birth.
There is evidence than having a Doula have a big positive impact in your birth and postnatal experience.
You can read more about this research of having a Doula in the Doula UK site. (Evidence in support of doulas )

I also support families in the post-natal period. I really enjoy to support new parents to start this journey in the best way possible for them. Every parent knows what is best for their baby, sometime they just need some confidence and encouragement and that is where I come in during my post-natal visits.

I can hold your baby while you nap, go with you to appointments, we can talk about how you feel with all this changes in your new life as a parent and/or I can do things in your house that will allow you to enjoy these precious moments with your baby without worrying about laundry or walking the dog.  As your doula, my main goal is you to enjoy this period and give you any support you need to make things easier, more comfortable and, ultimately, happier.

I am also happy to support families during the adoption process, miscarriages or families going through fertility issues.

One of the questions I usually get is "what is the difference between a Doula and a family member.?" My role as your Doula is objective and unbiased. I will support your process and helping you making informed decitions based on your wishes and preferences. Even though we will build a relationship and trust, I am not emotionally involved so my support will be impartial comparing with a family member. Also your family can enjoy supporting you without having to worry about you and your partner being alone or seeing you in vulnerable-emotional situations who may be too much for them. Some families ask me to be a link between them and the rest of the family the day of the birth to keep them informed and updated so parents don't need to be with the phone during the process. Is lovely to see how we build an big wonderful team!
